We adopted this cute, little Terrier mix from PetSmart. A few days ago I took the kids to the pet store to look at the puppies in the PetsHotel; not sure what I was thinking! We returned today during Pet Adoption and fell in love with Scruffy, a two-year old male rescued from the SPCA. Jason thinks he looks like the famous dog, Benji. Driving home the kids thought of new names for Scruffy and Jason kept his fingers crossed that this new addition would like the reigning King of the Parkin Backyard. The kids narrowed the names to "Skeeter" and "Skittles" but quickly decided that Nikkie would be a perfect fit. Willie and Nikkie are now buddies and all is well in the Parkin Backyard.

Let's hope that my backyard family doesn't try to come meet your new addition =) Those pet adoptions get us every time =)
You'd think two fences would be enough of a barrier! We still haven't heard Nikkie bark. That's a good sign!
CUTE DOG!!!! I like Nikkie too. good name! I love your dress too! You look so beautiful!!! The family looks so good too.
That is Benji. You are such a sucker... a sweet sucker, cute dog.
I've decided to start the 'gloom committee' at work. We would leave teachers cards with messages like, "you're pathetic. Do the right thing." and we would leave a toy gun in their cubby.
He was rescued BY the SPCA, not FROM them, right? SPCA is good! :o)
He's a cutie, and very sweet.
Good question. We adopted him from "For the Sake of Dogs" (contracted with PetSmart) which is owned by an older woman who goes TO the SPCA to find animals. The lady said that our dog would have been euthanized had she not adopted him from SPCA.
I think she was trying to push you into adopting him by saying that (she meant well...) the SPCA is a no-kill organization.
Regardless, Nikkie is one lucky dog! (did you name him after ME on purpose? HAHA!!)
