Happy 35 To Me!

My 35th birthday was a perfect day . . . received many phone calls, texts, cards, and emails wishing me a happy day, had some serenity time by the pool, took Olivia with me for a pedicure (she was so surprised), ate sugar and real food, and was completely spoiled by my handsome husband.
Here's why: After a long day and night at work, Jason went grocery shopping a few minutes before midnight to buy me my favorite fruits for breakfast. He then decorated the downstairs with balloons and streamers until 1:30 am. At 5:30 am, he slaved in the kitchen to make me breakfast in bed and gave me the most beautiful card ever. He rushed home on his very short lunch hour to buy me my favorite birthday cake: TCBY white chocolate mousse with chocolate cake. When he came home at 5:30, we had a family party and he presented me with wonderful presents, picked up the babysitter, and took me to Max's with our good friends, Matt and Nicole, also May 28 birthday girl. I could go on and on . . . thank you, Jason, for being my best friend and ensuring that I had a special day.

Jason is the best! And still loves me even though I drive him crazy with all of my pregnancy complaints . . . . .

So yummy!

To Be Young Again

Somedays I wish I could turn the ticking biological clock back to my childhood years in beautiful Oregon; life was simple then. Pony-tails, girly-girl dresses, sisters, brothers, hugs from mom and dad.. . .

I hope my children feel the same someday.

My Chandler

Chandler prayed that Mommy's itches will go away . . . and through the faith and prayer of a child, my itches/rash ARE disappearing! I love this little guy. He is a spiritual giant -- and he's only 7.

Happy Birthday, Olivia!

Happy Birthday to our Princess Olivia! How blessed we are to have her in our lives! We had a wonderful weekend celebrating #10. Yesterday Jason and I gave her an envelope with cash and told her she could spend it however her little heart desired. The girls spent the morning shopping while the boys ordered her cake and bought her a few other presents -- a softball mitt and pink softball! We swam in the pool and then enjoyed a yummy dinner at DogHouse Grill. After dinner we watched Back to the Future III (even Mommy who rarely watches movies . . . .). This morning the boys, Dad and Mom made Olivia a delicious breakfast -- bacon, German pancakes, and fresh fruit. Off to church and then home again for dinner and chocolate cake (Olivia was lucky that Davis didn't choose a PowerRangers cake . . .). Phone calls from all 4 grandparents and cousin added an extra touch to her special day. We love you, Baby Girl!

I Am a Walking Itch

So, I ate alot of mangos last week and thought I was having an allergic reaction to this delicious fruit. Nope. The itching and bumps started on Friday night and have intesified and taken over my stomach, thighs, legs, and feet. I am a hostage to these red bumps. How nice that the face is spared from these unsightly intruders!
I raced to my doctor on Monday who said I either have PUPPPS or IHC. I was sent to the lab and enjoyed a nice prick to draw some blood to check for IHC. IHC is a potentially harmful condition and is caused by "leaking" bile salts in the bloodstream. Both conditions are fairly uncommon and miserable and last until delivery. Oh, and they get WORSE as the mother progesses into the final days of pregnancy. So, technically I have about 11 weeks of a nightmare itch, rash, and Benadryl unless my wonderful doc feels sorry for me and relieves me of my itch. I'm hoping that I don't have IHC . . .
